This news is critically important. That said, I'd like to thank you in advance for taking just a few moments to read and respond to this note.
Modest Needs is an organization that helps people with financial problems through the help of many every day people like yourself and right now they are down to the wire in pursuing a $250,000.00 grant from Pepsi. This money will be spent to help people affected by the Gulf oil spill. Here is a way you can help others without any finances out of your pocket. BUT they need YOUR help RIGHT NOW!
Thanks to the hard work and diligence of the Modest Needs Community, our grant proposal is now ranked number 3, up from 4 yesterday! We only have to be ranked number two to win this grant once and for all, so we are now poised to bring this $250,000.00 grant home to our neighbors who need it most.
What's more, I have it on good authority that we're only a few hundred votes from the number two spot (which would be enough to make us winners) and just a few thousand votes from the number one position in this competition!
You know that means? It means we practically own this grant! In fact, I'm almost certain that, with a little bit of short-term teamwork, we can win this grant – a grant with the power make a world of difference to Modest Needs' current and future applicants – not tomorrow, or at the end of August, but right now.
But they need your help to make this happen. And that's why I need to ask you for a small personal favor –a favor that costs no money and will take mo more than two minutes of your time.
Today, I want to ask you personally if, in the interest of those who need our help, you would please take just a few moments to cast your vote for Modest Needs' grant proposal at Pepsi's ‘refresh everything' website just as soon as you finish reading this note.
If you're willing to do so, just once, just today, then by the end of the day, we won't just be ranked number one; we'll be so far ahead of the other grant proposals that catching us would be virtually impossible!
If we truly want to bring this grant home, that's what it's going to take to get the job done. So believe me when I tell you that, today especially, your support of this initiative really, really matters, both to Modest Needs, and to our current and future applicants.

2. When you get to this page, on the right side of the screen, you'll see a vote button. Click that button.
3. If you're already registered with Pepsi, you'll be prompted to login. If you're not already registered, you'll be prompted to register. Registration is spam free and takes about two seconds.
4. When you log in, you'll hear a sound like a Pepsi being poured into a glass. This doesn't mean you've voted. It means you're now logged in to Pepsi's site.
5. Now, click the 'Vote' button again. When you do, the vote button will change to display a message like 'Sweet!' or 'Right On!' and you'll get a message that says 'Now, why not promote this idea?' If you see those messages, you'll know you've voted correctly and that your vote 'counted' for Modest Needs.
6. Finally, please scroll down and leave a quick comment, even if it's just two words. Pepsi is counting comments as well as votes, so this is an important step in the voting process.
